Overview
Civil works contract for the construction of a 90 berth marina adjacent to the River Shannon in the Village of Tarmonbarry . Construction involved the excavation of 40,000m3 in the marina and 25,000m3 of excavation in the inlet channel leading from the River Shannon . This was achieved by the construction of a temporary cofferdam constructed of dense boulder clay across the proposed mouth of the inlet and extending out into the Shannon . The Marina walls consisted of 2,000m2 of Reinforced Earth topped off with a concrete Apron extending 10 metres behind the Quay walls . Contract also included the construction of 600 metres of access roads and footpaths and services to the residential development beside the Marina.
